The betel leaf, fondly paan, has an indispensable significance in India’s shaahi culture. Preserving its traditional look and purpose, paan happened tomake its first glamorous appearance in front of Punekars in 2005 for the first time. Mr. Sharad More is the man who strived to bring his dream into reality.

The dream that he cherished since his early days at a small paan tapari is today a well-known brand in Pune – Shaukeen! The shop at Nal Stop was a surprising addition to the city’s blooming foodie culture that year and it soon became people’s favourite place to rush to after their meals – especially postdinners.

 Today, not only the usual paan eaters but also the ladies, teenaged girls, elderly and even kids in families have become regular visitors at the shop. Yes, because Shaukeen has something for everyone who comes in. Clean, natural, best-quality, tobacco-free paan is Shaukeen’s speciality and the menu is huge with more than 50 different varieties on the list.

With party packs, birthday celebration packs and family packs, Shaukeen’s paan has unknowingly gained the recognition of a dessert! Available at much affordable rates starting at INR 20 to INR 500, Shaukeen’s paan is currently pleasing people in Pune, Mumbai and a few more cities in the state.
