Sharad More started a small paan shop in 1984 near Swikar Hotel. At that time Paan was seen as an addiction, as a bad habit. Women didn’t feel comfortable going to buy paan. More decided to change that and to provide service to all in a comfortable atmosphere he made the first AC Paan shop, Shaukeen in 2005. This started helping to change people’s perception about paan, people gave very good response to it and people started feeling more comfortable in buying it. Being a new generation Bhushan More gave a fresh perspective to this business and he enriched Shaukeen with technology and variety of flavors. There are 2 types of Paans, one is spitable and other is eatable. In older generations spitable paans had high demand as the eatable paans were not presented much. Bhushan More worked on that. Shaukeen has a wide range for both these types and they are changing people’s taste to eatable from spitable. For billing and overall management Bhushan More made an internal app. With this new technology understanding and managing the business became easier. Apart from this he focused more on branding and marketing of Shaukeen. That helped Shaukeen to reach more people. Now, Shaukeen has 10 shops in all over Maharashtra. And now they are targeting the global market. Even currently Shaukeen has franchise requests from UK and Abu Dhabi. Soon they will start exporting and people can see their beloved Shaukeen on international level. Apart from all this Bhushan More is keener to provide hygienic service to their customers. All their employees compulsorily wear uniforms, caps, etc. Bhushan More grew up watching his grandmother and mother working in the paan shop and that made him realize that he should incorporate more women in this business. This venture helped many women for employment. Currently they have many women working in production. Shaukeen treats their employees just like family.

At present More’s Shaukeen has done tie ups with many companies and hotels and their many new ventures are in pipeline. Paan is not only a betel leaf, it has significance in Aayurveda. Soon, Shaukeen is going to launch the range of aayurvedic paans as well. Bhushan More believes that when the business comes to new generation from the old generation then this new generation is supposed to take the experience from old generation and technology of new generation, when you do that then that’s the recipe of a successful business.
